Description

A child’s face emerges sharply from a blurred, hazy setting, blue eyes, rosy cheeks and blonde hair caught under a pale blue bonnet trimmed with a pink flower. The small figure wears dark clothing, and behind her the canvas dissolves into soft greys and greens, indistinct silhouettes of passers-by and the dark shape of a hat or umbrella suggesting a crowded square glimpsed in passing.
