Description
A small, quickly worked scene: two sailboats with dark violet-grey sails cross a stretch of deep blue water, one close in the foreground with its dark hull reflected below, the other further off near the middle of the canvas. Behind them a low shoreline runs in bands of rust orange, ochre, and dark green, suggestive of autumn, under a pale sky streaked with pink and white clouds.
Painted with loose, rapid strokes and a limited, warm palette against the cool blue of the water, it has the feel of a quick outdoor study rather than a finished exhibition piece, capturing a fleeting moment on the water.
This small marine study is available as a hand-painted oil reproduction or an archival canvas print, produced to order in a size you choose.
