Description
A massive chestnut tree in full bloom dominates a Paris square, its white and pink blossoms spread wide above a horse drawn carriage and dozens of small figures crossing the sunlit ground below. Cream buildings and a glimpse of blue sky close the scene behind it.
Painted at the Place de la Trinite two decades before the other version, this earlier picture leans on the tree itself as the main subject, the crowd beneath it reduced to quick, loose dabs of dark clothing and colour.
Reproduced as a hand-painted oil on canvas or as an archival canvas print, in a range of sizes, framed or unframed.
