Description

A narrow path climbs a grassy hillside, dotted with red poppies and wildflowers, toward a pale strip of sky at the top of the canvas. Two figures, a woman in a red hat and a child beside her, make their way up the trail, while another pair of walkers appears small in the distance near a line of slender trees.

The whole field is built from short, flickering strokes of green, gold and blue, with the poppies supplying small bursts of red throughout the grass. It is a picture of an ordinary summer walk, loose and sunlit, more about the feeling of open air than any single detail.
