Description
Homes in Essoyes shows a farmhouse and a smaller outbuilding glimpsed across an open field, half hidden behind a tall, leafy tree. The main house has whitewashed walls and a steep brown roof pierced by a dormer window; a lower, red-roofed barn sits just beside it. In front of the buildings, a wide meadow of green and golden grass stretches toward the viewer, with a low patch of dark green shrubs and yellow-tinged foliage in the near foreground.
Renoir paints the scene with loose, rapid strokes, letting the grass and foliage dissolve into dabs of green, ochre, and pink under a soft, pale blue sky. The brushwork is quick and sketch-like throughout, with the architecture only lightly defined, so the sense of open countryside and dappled light dominates over any precise detail.
We reproduce this landscape as a hand-painted oil on canvas or as an archival print, offered in a range of sizes to suit anything from a small study nook to a larger living space.
