Description
This close, informal portrait shows Renoir’s young son Claude, called Coco, seen in profile with his head bowed, his auburn hair loose around his shoulders and gathered at the crown with a red bow. He wears a red garment, and the whole figure is set against a softly brushed green background, the paint applied in short, warm strokes that read almost like pastel.
Titled Coco (The artist’s youngest son, Claude), the work dates from around 1905 and is held by the Art Gallery of South Australia.
It is available as a hand-painted oil reproduction on artist-grade canvas or as an archival giclee canvas print, made to order in the size you need, available framed or unframed, and shipped worldwide.
